— Erza Knightwalker was raised by Irene Knightwalker, a single mother who lost her husband to war. Their family was considered noble, well-off from the generational wealth. Her mother didn't remarry after her father's death.

— Her childhood had not been easy. Irene was a helicopter parent who pressured Erza into doing well in school. With how much she studied and the classes she took, she barely had the time to socialize and play. Her mom wanted her to be excellent, worthy enough to be a wife to a man of high-ranking. Eventually, she grew a resentment towards her mother.

— Despite her mother's efforts to shape her into what she wanted, Knightwalker wanted to be something else. She wanted to be a warrior who fought against injustice. The aspiration was fueled further when she'd heard about Panther Lily's heroic deed of rescuing the Princes of Edolas.

— Irene fell ill when she reached her teenage years. And before her final days, the mother and daughter reconciled, with Irene encouraging her to pursue the path she wanted. It left bittersweet memories.

— After her mother's death, her paternal aunt, who was the head of a royal army, took her under her tutelage. Erza had gone through a tough training as a soldier. There were only a handful of women in the ranks, and with the army dominated by men, she was often belittled. This motivated her to do her best, until she eventually became a top trainee, and then the youngest royal captain of the 2nd division.

— Even as she rose in the ranks, it hadn't been easy. She hadn't earned everyone's respect, and constantly had to prove herself over and over. No one took her seriously. In the process of it, she underwent a metamorphosis and turned into a cold and cruel person.

— With Knightwalker's proximity to the King, she was blindly loyal to him and the country. His word was law, and she never questioned his ideals, which would backfire on her later on.

— After the permanent magic removal in Edolas, she had begrudgingly helped rebuild Edolas and worked with the new King.

— Before getting married to her father, Toma, the Kingdom had an agreement that she must give up all her magic to be with him. With the two being in-love, Emerald had given up magic to go through with the marriage.

— They had a healthy relationship and blissful marriage. A few years later, Emerald had gotten pregnant with Hisui. The pregnancy caused her old power to resurface due to her daughter having the same magic power as her, since the two were connected to the womb.

— Emerald had died during childbirth due to Hisui's natural magic. She had absorbed all her mother's blood, which ended up in hemorrhage.

— Despite the incident, the King had done his best to cover it up to protect his daughter, knowing that she'd be considered a threat to the Kingdom if exposed.

— He had done everything he could to remove her magic power, seeking healers and magic specialist. Unfortunately, no one could completely drain her magic power. However, her blood magic could be suppressed, and she could practice other types of magic instead.

— Toma decided to invent a story about her mother being a Celestial Spirit Mage, considering it as the least potent magic that could possibly activate her blood magic. In addition, it would aid the Eclipse Project in the future.

They came from two merging families of powerful wizards that established a community, Creed of Lux, whose goal was to eradicate all the evils in the world.Creed of Lux was an anti-Zeref community determined to oppose him, believing that they had the power to rid the world of its wickedness, ensuring their people that they'd reach the Elysium. It was the greatest place above, promising eternal happiness. And with this promise, many people had joined their cause, and the community eventually grew with devotees.In reality, the promise of CoL was false. It was only a ploy to lure people to join the cult, fostering their connections and strengthening their ties, believing that it came in numbers. Many people, victims of Zeref's atrocities, had joined, solidifying the cult's believers.

— From a young age, Lumina Lovelace's parents had already written destiny. She was meant to be great and the light of the world. Prophesied to be a great force to rid the world of all the bad and the evil, they expected her to have an immense magic power of light.

— She had started her training at childhood, harnessing her abilities to use light magic. However, the young Lumina's powers did not manifest, much to their disappointment.

— Her parents couldn't accept what she lacked. They wanted to push her to the limits and decided to go to the extreme measures. Using the funds from the community, they started a secret project to experiment on her, hiring a team of scientists. They were determined to 'extract' the power she was supposed to have.

— Most of her childhood had been spent on a lab, going through testing and experiments. The memories had been terrible, but they had been a blur. She had lost track of reality and of the days.

— Until one day, she had woken up with enhanced sensitivity to everything around her. She had heard people's thoughts, seen their memories, and detected their emotions. She had also discovered that touching people and giving them a command would make them follow orders.

— With her newfound magic, they had stopped the experiments. Her parents had decided to make use of her abilities for something else. They had trained her acquired powers and explored what she could do, discovering her telepathy, and how she could control people's memory and actions to a limited extent.

— The young Lumina knew that it was wrong, but she was threatened and punished each time she attempted to defy them. Reaching her teenage years, she had developed awareness of the corruption, the lies, the abuses, and the faults of her parents and her community.

— She had enough of living her false life and her family's maltreatment. She had plotted her escape, using her powers, and asking some members to participate in her plan.

— With her escape from the island succeeding, she was left to fend for herself. Lumina had used her magic to compel people to give her money, feed her, and live in their homes. But with the limit of her powers, she couldn't stay in one home. She hopped from one home after another to sustain food and shelter. Eventually, she ended up in a small village. She had done her usual modus operandi, until she made the mistake of encountering a retired mage, Suzie, who saw through her magic.

— Lumina expected to be punished, but the retired mage took her in, trained her how to use her magic, and helped her with her rehabilitation with the society.

— Wanting to completely leave her old life behind, Mina changed her name into Alyxandra Lockart, taking the last name of the person who saved her.

— Despite her attachment to Suzie and her reconnection with the community, Alyx grew into an aloof person, who disliked humanity. She may have recovered and found her footing, but her experience with her family embittered her.
